Community and Volunteer Opportunities

There are a variety of community & volunteer opportunities in the
Hickman Mills C-1 School District.

For Example:

YouthFriends - connects young people with caring adult volunteers in schools. A plentiful array of volunteer placements range from lunch buddy to mentor, to academic or career coach.

Adult GED Classes- A GED class is offered through a partnership with the Local Investment Commission. Classes are held at Santa Fe Elementary, 8908 Old Santa Fe Road. Business Partnerships - School/Business Partnerships strengthen the education process, enhance economic vitality and develop a greater sense of community.

Three Trails Day - Great food, children’s games, DARE cars, the KCMO CAT team, KCMO Mounted Unit, Bee Cee’s Bar-B-Que, Charlie D’s Catfish, quilt raffle, crafts, petting zoo, KC Wolf, Student performances, and hay rides.
